How to Get Job Applicants to Tell You the Truth
A specialty course for Recruiters and Hiring Managers
1-day program or mini program
Are you wondering if the job applicant sitting across from you is embellishing on the truth? During an interview, there are endless opportunities for candidates to exaggerate their qualifications, rationalize gaps in their resumes, or fabricate reasons for leaving their former positions. Unfortunately, some recruiters and hiring managers are under the false impression that credit reports and reference checks will disclose all they need to know about an interviewee. This kind of thinking can waste time and resources. As a result, a company can stand to lose not only thousands of dollars in training, HR and relocation expenses, but also its reputation.
Don't fear! Whether you're conducting interviews in person or over the phone, this course developed by Susan Constantine and Gerard I. Nierenberg will help you uncover the truth behind the resume. Not only will you learn how to tactfully inquire about an applicant's seemingly-glowing work history, but you'll also observe speech, voice, body and face patterns to determine when someone attempts to deceive you. These skills have successfully been used by our experts who have trained law enforcement agents, polygraph examiners, psychologists, and many others in various fields.
