Alan Schnurman, Esq.

Alan Schnurman has known Gerard Nierenberg for over twenty-five years.  During this long friendship, they have had many consultations and discussions on the subject of negotiation.  They are both actively engaged in the negotiation process as it plays out in law, business, and the relationships in life situations that need to be negotiated. Mr. Schnurman endorses Mr. Nierenberg’s philosophy, Everybody Wins® in a successful negotiation. If there is a secret to negotiating, it is making sure that all parties benefit from a conclusion that satisfies the needs of negotiations on both sides.

Alan is a senior partner in the law firm of Zalman & Schnurman. Founded in 1980, the firm has a successful practice specializing in litigation. His diverse cases and expertise has made him a frequent mainstay on television and the print media. He has appeared as a commentator on the Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox News, CNN and local television and radio. He has been quoted in the New York Times, Associated Press, Daily News and the New York Post. Alan has been listed in "Who's Who in American Law," since 1987.

After a career spanning more than 35 years in litigation, Alan's accomplishments as a negotiator has not gone unnoticed by his legal peers.

In addition, he has been active in the real estate market for the last 30 years. Alan and his partners own and manage buildings in lower and midtown Manhattan, Brownstone Brooklyn, and have successfully completed projects in New Jersey, North Carolina and Colorado.

The Hamptons has always had a special allure for Alan and he has been an active real estate investor there since 1986. Alan has developed some of the largest parcels of land in the community and is noted to have received the highest price for subdivided farmland in Bridgehampton. His expert knowledge of the area has been recognized by the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
